Undersealing FAQs
Questions before booking
Straight answers.
No vague promises.
Condition, preparation, mobile working, pricing and aftercare explained before you commit.

Can you underseal a rusty vehicle?
We remove suitable loose surface deposits during preparation. If significant or structural rust needs welding, we stop, you take the vehicle to a reputable welder, and we arrange a return to complete undersealing after sound repairs.
Do you pressure wash the underside?
The full package includes mechanical cleaning and wire brushing of accessible dirt, surface deposits and loose failing seal. A vehicle heavily contaminated with mud may need washing and drying before safe treatment; we explain that upfront without a surprise on-site upsell.
Is the service mobile?
Yes. We bring tarpaulin, suitable marine ply, masking and wheel-off preparation equipment. We require a private hard, level working area, sufficient ventilation and suitable weather.
How long before I can drive?
Plan to leave the vehicle parked after treatment. Silverhook SGUS1’s technical sheet gives approximately 5–7 hours drying time. Actual drying can take longer; leave the vehicle parked until the treated areas have sufficiently dried.
What happens if structural rust is found?
We stop and explain the concern. The customer arranges appropriate repairs with a reputable welder; once the repair is complete and the vehicle is suitable, we can return and finish the underseal treatment.
Is there a workmanship guarantee?
Yes. Our 12-month workmanship guarantee covers missed agreed treatment areas or defective preparation/application that we are responsible for. It is not a rust-free or MOT guarantee; your statutory rights remain unaffected.
How often should it be checked?
We recommend annual inspection and optional coating top-ups. Existing Underseal customers can book a discounted maintenance visit: £99 cars, £149 vans/campers/4×4s and £199 motorhomes.
