1. Our full undersealing prices
Cars £249; eligible 4×4s, SUVs, vans and campervans £450; suitable motorhomes up to 4 tonnes £695. Our standard full-treatment package includes appropriate driveway shielding, wheel and accessible trim removal, preparation, Silverhook underseal application, reassembly, photographs and aftercare. No deposit is charged; the fixed amount is due after the agreed work is completed.
2. Protecting your driveway
We first inspect your vehicle and service area. We lay tarpaulin and position marine ply as appropriate to help protect the driveway from debris, marks and drips. The surface must be private, solid and level, with enough clear space around the vehicle. Protection boards do not make unstable or sloping surfaces safe for jacking or supporting a vehicle.
3. Lifting, preparation and masking
Where the vehicle and site are suitable, we use appropriate jacks, wheel chocks and correctly rated axle stands; we never work below a vehicle supported only by a jack. We remove wheels and practical accessible undertrays and wheel-arch trim. We use wire brushes and powered brushing equipment to remove loose dirt, flaky deposits and failing old underseal from suitable areas, without hiding significant corrosion. We mask sensitive vehicle components and use protective sheeting around the vehicle to reduce overspray.
4. Silverhook professional underseal
We use Silverhook Under Seal Spray (SGUS1), a bitumen-based aerosol underbody coating. It is applied to suitable, prepared accessible areas. We do not coat brake friction surfaces or unsuitable hot and sensitive components. The aerosol is extremely flammable: adequate ventilation, no smoking or ignition sources, controlled wind/overspray and protection of property and drains are essential. Children, pets and bystanders must be kept away from the treatment area.
5. The worksite and vehicle must be safe
Our mobile service can cover vehicles up to 4 tonnes only where the actual load ratings of the lifting equipment, suitable lifting points, ground conditions, safe access and space make the task safe. We may rearrange or decline work in unsuitable weather, on a sloping or soft driveway, near uncontrolled ignition sources or with inadequate clearance. We will explain the issue rather than undertake unsafe work.
6. If we find serious corrosion
If significant or structural rust requiring welding is discovered, we stop and explain it before applying protective coating. You will need a reputable welder or qualified repairer to complete structural repairs. We can arrange to return and finish the agreed standard treatment once the repair is sound and the vehicle is safe to treat. Welding, body repairs and structural fabrication are not included in the Underseal package price.
7. Photographs and handover
We photograph the starting condition, preparation stages, coating application and final accessible treated areas. After the agreed work is completed, we refit suitable removed parts, check our work, explain the photo record, show you the finished result and give aftercare advice. Photos are for your treatment record; we will ask separately before using any customer images for publicity.
8. Drying and aftercare
Silverhook's SGUS1 technical sheet states approximately 5–7 hours drying time. Actual drying may be longer depending on coating thickness, weather, ventilation and temperature. Plan to keep the vehicle parked after the appointment; do not drive until treated areas are sufficiently dry. Avoid contact with fresh coating, ignition sources and exposure of children and pets to the work area while aerosol vapour risks remain. We provide specific aftercare instructions on the day. See Silverhook's technical sheet.
9. Appointment confirmation, payments and cancellation
A preferred date/time is a request until we email a separate confirmation. There is no deposit and no online payment. Pay only after the agreed treatment is completed. You can contact info@underseal.co.uk to rearrange or cancel. Where a qualifying contract is made online, by phone or away from business premises, consumer cancellation rights normally allow 14 days. If you expressly request work within that period and cancel after it has begun, a lawful proportionate charge may apply. If requested work is fully performed following the required express request and acknowledgement, the right to cancel that completed service may end. Your statutory rights remain unaffected, and we do not automatically take or forfeit a deposit.
10. Workmanship guarantee
Our 12-month workmanship guarantee covers a missed agreed accessible treatment area or a defect attributable to our preparation/application. We will inspect and, where confirmed, correct our workmanship at no additional labour charge. It does not promise permanent freedom from rust or cover structural defects, coating damage from impact/abrasion or areas never included in the agreed scope. See the workmanship guarantee.
11. Optional lower-price maintenance
We recommend regular underbody inspection, particularly after winter and abrasive driving. Existing Underseal customers may choose a shorter inspection and Silverhook top-up to suitable areas where needed: £99 cars, £149 vans, campervans and 4×4s, and £199 eligible motorhomes. This is an optional Underseal maintenance service, not a manufacturer-required annual recoating of the whole underside. Read about top-ups.
