The coating we use

PREPARATION-FIRST APPLICATION.
Our full mobile treatment uses Silverhook Under Seal Spray (SGUS1), a professional bitumen-based aerosol coating developed to help protect suitable prepared underside areas from road debris and corrosion.
The coating is one part of the package. The value is in properly protecting the driveway, safely lifting the vehicle, removing wheels and accessible trim, mechanical preparation, masking, controlled application, refitting and documenting the work.
What we apply
PROFESSIONAL UNDERBODY COATING.
Silverhook’s technical sheet identifies SGUS1 as a black bitumen-based underbody coating. It is designed for spray application and resistance to gravel and corrosive exposure when used on a suitable surface. It is not a structural rust repair or permanent guarantee against corrosion.

- Tarpaulin, marine ply as appropriate and masking sheets
- Wheel and accessible trim removal using safe lifting
- Mechanical brushing of loose deposits and failing seal
- Controlled Silverhook aerosol application to suitable accessible areas
- Photos, reassembly and aftercare guidance
Critical exclusions
- Major structural rust and welding
- Unsuitable or concealed inaccessible metal
- Brake friction surfaces and hot exhaust components
- Spraying when wind, drainage, ventilation or ignition risks cannot be controlled
- Vehicles/driveways that cannot be supported safely
Drying and use
ALLOW THE COATING TO DRY.
Silverhook’s SGUS1 technical data sheet states a drying time of approximately 5–7 hours. Real conditions, thickness and temperature can extend drying. We ask customers to keep the vehicle parked and avoid contact with the treated areas until sufficiently dry. You will receive specific advice on the day.
The aerosol is extremely flammable during application. We work in appropriate outdoor conditions, keep people and animals away, and control ignition, ventilation, overspray and drain exposure. We do not spray in unsafe conditions.

Maintenance
INSPECT IT. MAINTAIN IT.
The underside of a vehicle remains exposed to abrasion and damage. We recommend an inspection after periods of hard use or winter roads and offer lower-price annual checks and Silverhook reapplication where appropriate. An annual top-up is our maintenance service, not an assertion that Silverhook requires a particular fixed reapplication interval.
